- There is a holy well in Ballymeeney. The old people used to call that place Keeve. It is situated between the parishes of Templeboy and Easkey.
A saint called St Farnan lived there in olden times.
There are many stories told of the severe life he led there.
His food consisted of bread and water and he slept but a short time each night, he spent the remainder of his time in prayer.
His footprints are to be seen on stones near the well up to the present day.- Collector
