- Near the town of Ballina in Co. May there is a holy well called St Patrick's well. Long ago when St. Patrick came to Ireland he used the water of this well to baptise the pagans, and he also fasted and prayed beside it.
It is said that there is a trout in this well, and a person to whom there are favours grandted by doind the station there is supposed to see the trout.
There is a pilgrimage to this well each year.- Collector
