- In the townland of Townalaughta there is a rock called the Griddle Rock. it is a large flag about six feet long resting on four rocks standing perpendicularly. Some people say that in the penal days hunted priests said mass on this rock. Other people say it is a mark to show where some chief was buried.
It is so strong and heavy that no storm can move it. It is said that giants set it up there.- Collector
