  1. In the year 1917 on 29th of January a severe snow-storm raged over this district.
    The wind blew a strong gale from the North and the snow drifted in large heaps as high as the roofs of the houses.
    Roads were impassable for about three weeks.
    Snow lay along ditches, in low lying districts, and on the sides of roads until St. Patrick's Day.
