  1. This poem describes a drowning tragedy which occurred at Enniscrone about fifty years ago.
    Attend ye sons and daughters,
    A loving mothers dear.
    And a very mournful story.
I mean to let you hear.
    Concerning two young fishermen,
    All who were well known,
    They earned an honest living.
    Around the bay of Enniscrone.
    The second day of August.
All in their youth and bloom,
    None of them expected,
    They'd meet a watery doom.
For sad and dismal was their fate,
    And mournful their fall.
I hope it was a message
    From God Almighty's call.
