  1. There is a treasure supposed to have been been hidden in Castletown.
It was hidden there by Patsy Geffers when he was getting old, (because he was getting old,) because he was afraid it would be taken by his daughter Ann, as she used to visit the public house very often, and take it with her and spend it. So he placed three black cats minding it. Nobody could get it only when the priest is changing the chalice on the altar. A man named Mick Queenan tried to get it but in vain as it was to late at night and the priest was hardly on the altar. The hidden treasure was a crock of gold with a little silver. Its value is supposed to have ben seven or eight thousand pounds.
The buried gold or such treasure has ever been found in our district. Cats are supposed to safeguard this hidden treasure in Castletown, except when the chalice is changing No lights have ever been seen where it is hidden.
