    no rods but all a stretch of straw. To make them neat-looking they used to clip what they called an eaves on both sides. It was a very warm covering in winter, and much cooler than any other in summer.

  2. Long ago in our village people used to make their own baskets. It is now done away with. Mr. Neary makes the cart wheels for our village. Very few people burn lime now.
    Mr Gallagher from Attymass is the only one that burns kilns.
    Mr. Cooper Quinn who lived in our village used to make churns, barrels, and tubs. He used to plane and put into different shapes.
