    spilled the old people say "God bless the cows and the mother of the milk. When people sell or send out milk it is usual to put in some drops of water and a little salt.

  2. When a cow calves first it is right to milk the first four drops on the ground to satisfy the fairies or else you will have no milk. It is unlucky to give away the first new milk or butter of a newly calved cow. Do not throw milk in a river or wash milk-cans in running water. If a fish gets the milk expect a small supply of milk for the year.
