    When St Patrick was in Sligo he visited the fishery where the fishermen were working. When they saw him coming towards them they got the biggest fish they had and presented him with it. St Patrick was so pleased with the gift that he blessed the river and also the fishermen.
    He also promised that there would be fish in the river when there would not be fish in any other river in Ireland. That is the
