  1. A Storm
A storm arose in Sligo in the year 1885 in January. The water arose 15 feet above the level of the banks. It was a nor west wind. A drudge boat owned by Mr Best was blown to the long banks at Rosses Point.
The Sligo Harbour flats, and lighters were all broken against a wall.
Big logs of pitch pine were seen floating on the water. An old man named Daniel Flanagan stayed in his house, and it full of water because of a purse he had. A man risked his live to save him. A man named Crystal was drowned, and the spot where he was drowned is called Crystals spot.
