  1. Before there were any Toy Shops boys had their own home-made toys. As for girls they had their own home-made necklaces made from flowers of every sort particularly daisies.
    The would first pick a bunch of daisies. They put a hole in the back of them with their nails. They put a flower in through it as far as it will go. They keep doing this until they have a necklace as long as they wish.
    Boys had their toys also. The principal ones were guns made from wood and spinning tops made from spools.
