  1. In Coolera about three miles from Sligo there are three holy wells in a line with each other& only a few yards apart.
There is a little house round each well & at the gable of one of the houses there was a little altar.
Up to about seventy years ago people came from all parts on the 15th Aug. to hear Mass here & there were miracles performed.
It is said that the water in one of the wells will not boil, but it can be used in any other way.
Old people sang in praise of the wells; here is one "verse"
Its in the lands of Scarden,
    That Blessed holy place,
    Where miracles are performed
All by the Queen of saints,
The deaf to hear, the dumb to speak,
The lame & the blind they say
Are all restored to their perfect health
    On Our Great lady Day.
