Let the patient sit near the fire till the sweat poured down his body. - (a) A relative of the sick person took about a half-pound of unsalted butter to a farmer on a small village in Co. Leitrim. He mixed this with special herbs.
(b) The seventh son of a family. - The cure for the rose was for a person to go and beg three pieces of butter from three people; and run this on the patient. If a man saw another with his head swelled, and said it was the rose; he would have to get the butter.
