One stormy night during winter the roof of a farmer's house was blown off by the storm. Next day he felled two trees in the fort. When he went home he brought them to the mill, and covered the roof with them. The following week his cows died; his house and all he owned was burned, and he himself was badly injured. During this disaster the singing of the fairies was heard coming from the fort.
