    There is a legend connected with Benbulben which is described in the "Pursuit of Diarmuid and Grainne," and is to the effect that an enchanted wild boar was pursued by Diarmuid, who, with a heavy stroke, made two pieces of his sword on the boar's back, but as the animal was getting away "Diarmuid made a triumphant cast of the hilt of his sword, that chanced to be
