- I often made a turnip skull by getting a turnip about the size of a person's head, peeling it and scooping out the inside. Then I cut two holes in it for the eyes and a slit for the mouth. If you stand a lighted candle in it it looks awful.
- I pick the daisies with the longest stems. I make a slit near the end of each stem. Through this slit I pass the stem of the next daisy and so on until I have a long chain. I often cut the tops of daisies and thread them with a needle and thread.
