  1. As St Patrick went through this parish he passed through the townland of Ballure.
    He was thirsty and asked a woman for a drink. She refused him the drink of water.
    He prophesied that the people of that townland would have no water from that out.
    From that time the people of the village have to go to Lough Gill or to Colga lake for all the water they drink.
