  1. Disaster at the "Wheaten Rock".
    About fifty years ago a sailing boat from Donegal was on her way to Sligo for provisions. A man and his two sons were on her. When they reached the "Wheaten Rocks" the younger of the sons happened to be sitting on the (taft)" when the boom swung round throwing the boy into the water.
    The father and brother made a desperate effort to save him but their efforts proved fruitless.
