  1. Long ago in a little lonely cottage in the mountain side there lived with her mother a little girl named Biddy. One day she was sent by her mother to the shop to buy a yard of satin. On her way to the shop(as she lived a long distance from one) she forgot "yard of satin". Not knowing what to do and being afraid to go home without the cloth she stopped for a moment to think. On entering the shop she asked the assistant "What do you call the devil?" What? It's not devil you call him. "Satan" replied the assistant. "You're right" said Biddy "give me a yard".
