  1. Colonel Campbell was the local landlord in our townland and in a couple of the surrounding townlands as well. He bought the property from a landlord named Dunn.
    Colonel Campbell was a good landlord, but he evicted a couple of people for nonpayment of rent. One of the tenants name was O'Connor. He evicted him but let him in again, then he put the farm up for sale. He took the cost of the rent out of the sale of the house and gave the rest to the man. The name of the man that bought the house was Devins. His son is living in it still.
    There was a landlord in some of the other townlands and he was very bad. He used to evict the people if they did send their children to a Protestant school that was near the lake.
    One day the priests and curate of the district were out walking. The curate was very quiet; and the priest asked him what he was thinking about. The curate said he did not like to tell him,
