  1. The most harmful weeds on our farm are rushes, thistles, dockins. These are harmful because they spread quickly.
    Rushes are used for thatching houses and the donkey is very fond of thistles.
    Pigs are very fond of dockins and they are good for fattening them.
    Dandelion is boiled and the juice drank for a cold in the head.
    Watercress grows in soft mushy places and can be boiled when cabbage is scarce. It has a peppery taste.
    Heather is used for dyeing white clothes brown.
    The foxglove is boiled and the juice drank for a weak heart.
