  1. There were different kinds of bread made in olden times - Pancake, oatbread, and cream cake.
    Potato Bread. Potatoes were boiled, peeled, and bruised, and mixed with flour It was then formed into cakes and cut in quarters and baked in an oven.
    Cream cake is made by mixing flour with water and sprinkling it with cream and baking it slowly in an oven.
    Oaten cake is made by mixing oatmeal with milk and baking by [?] against a griddle before the fire.
