  1. One can get married up to Shrove.
Friday and Saturday are the unluckiest days. There is a rhyme saying:-
    "Monday for health,
    Tuesday for wealth
Wednesday the best day of all
    Thursday for losses
    Friday for crosses
And Saturday - no day at all"
Money is often given as a fortune.
There is a custom of firing shots when a wedding party is starting.
A wedding feast is held in the brides' house. They raced horses on their way home for a bottle of whiskey [?] and whatever horse would come in first, (the rider) would get the bottle of whiskey. Wives sat behind their husbands on horseback on their way home.
