  1. Long ago the people used to put their cows up the mountain. One evening an old woman was going for her cows and as she was walking along she was admiring the beautiful heather flowers. She was taken by surprise. The whole bray was covered with white home spun yarn washed out and spread on the heather to dry. But when she was coming back it was not there, and it is supposed to be fairies that did it.
