In the time of the famine there was a road running from Michael Connors' bridge to Hudson's bridge, through Miss Branley's land, about a 1/4 mile from Glencar Lake The day of the November Fair in Manorhamilton a man was found lying dead on the roadside from hunger. The people stopped going the road after some time it became covered with grass and there is no sign of it now.
