    Thomas Harte's house lay between the two. He was fairly well off as he had the fishery rights of part of the river.
    He was married but had no family, consequently he had a servant boy helping him. Some jealousy arose between the husband and the boy. The latter was making too free with his missus and they were at daggers' ends for some time. Things settled somewhat through the influence of the curate then but still the "gradh" was there for the servant boy.
    One morning Thos Harte was found dead
