    While houses or lodges were been built the pay was 8d to 10d per day. Horses were used in drawing stones, sand etc. and consequently an enormous amount of oats was required.
    Suppose then a man went in arrears. Instead of paying this, he brought oats and got a ticket. Then when rent collector came along, he produced ticket. This freed him from paying arrears. This applied only for "Rent arrears" and not for rent itself.
