  1. Landlordism
    Lord Palmerston was the landlord in 1845 – 46 – 47 and on until Cooper became landlord of the place.
    How he became landlord I cannot trace but as stated above he was the one in the Famine Period. As to his qualities – he was a good man but his agents were walking demons.
    He lived most of his time in London, but built a house in Cliffoney, the present owners of which are Mrs Tom Cummins Hotel, Cliffoney.At a later date he used to come over and stay for a month or so in Summer.
