    The cure is effected in the following manner. He goes to the man or person who has the stones. They consist of nine stones; some gold, silver, copper and a rosary beads - as 9 stones, a gold ring, 6d or 3d in silver, 1d or 1/2d in coppers and a pair of beads. All those are put into a jug along with Holy Water. Then some salt - just a pinch. In addition to all this the water from the mering drain of 3 different townlands. The letter is very important. The water must be from a river or stream that mearns 3 different townlands.
    The entire lot is in a large jug and applied in the following manner.
