    Ye sympathisers around the border
    That overlooks our Inver Bay,
    Come join with me in your fervent prayers,
    For all those brave men who were lost at sea.

    'Twas the eighth of December that fateful morning
    It been on the year 1904
    When an Inver crew left their native harbour
    To fish for herring on the Southern shore.

    They had no suspicion of not returning
    And a good intention had every man,
    Then they hoist their sails
