  1. The local landlord 13-10-1938.
    Richard Jones was the last landlord in this district. He died about twenty-two years ago. Before his death the government baught his property and then the tenants bought it from the government.
    This man owned only the townland of Streeda which is near Grange, Co. Sligo. His family had been settled in this district for about two hundred years.
    When Cromell was fighting in Ireland he gave this townland to a soldier in his army. The land was so bad that this soldier would not keep it. He sold it to a captain in Cromell's army for twenty pounds.
    The man whom he sold it to was called Booth Jones.
    Booth Jones divided this land among some of the Irish and made them pay rent for it. he made the men to whom he gave it reclaim it as it was then boggy
