  1. In October 1936, a very sad tragedy occurred in Killybegs Co Donegal resulting in the death of a young man named Peter Flynn, by drowning.
    Flynn, who at the time of his death was about 35 years of age, was a native of Co Sligo.
    He was sent to Killybegs Industrial School when quite a young lad. Both his parents died when he was quite young.
    Being an extremely intelligent young boy and much above the average inmate of the school in respectability, he was employed by the Rector of the school when he reached the age of sixteen years (when all boys are free to leave) to assist the Engineer in looking after the Electrical Plant which furnishes the Industrial School with Electric
