  1. About fifty years ago a woman named Biddy Gaffney who lived in the townland of Drumfad, Parish of Ahamlish, Barony of Carbury, Co. Sligo walked a distance of thirty miles.
She left her house at five o clock in the morning on a certain day, and carried a basket of eggs and her shoes in her hands and walked in her bare feet to Sligo.
When she sold the eggs she bought a sack of meal which was twenty stone weight and carried it home on her back. She left Sligo at mid-day (12 o clock) and reached her house at five o'clock in the evening.
