    Beneath dear Kerry's snow-clad hills
    I take my pen today.
    To unfold to all a story true.
    Of days long passed away.
    On the fairest spot that nature planned.
    On those happy days of yore
    My heart was free from earthly care
    By Caraghs lovely shore.
    II.
    Through the voyage of life I oft recall
    Those youthful happy hours
    When with my pals in Glen I strayed
    By verdant shady bowers
    Twas then my heart with rapture beat
    No cares nor woes had I.
    And life and love to me was new
    Beneath dear Erins sky.
    III.
    In vision I can often see
    My school pals out at play
    And I can see the old time-clock
