  1. There is a fort in Sunhill and there is an under-ground-passage in it. It is said that when the "Black and Tans" were after the people there the latter went in that passage and when they were in a little distance they blocked the passage with stones so that the "Black and Tans" could not go in. The stones are to be seen in the same place still.

  2. A man named O'Shea lived near the sea in Rossbeigh.
    One day he saw three mermaids with cloaks and sticks. When he saw the mermaids he chased them and took the cloaks off them and ran away with them to his own house.
