    Oak Cake—Oatmeal steeped in sour milk, and left to stiffen and baked [in] the heat of the fire up against some of turf.
    Potato Cake- Boiled potatoes mashed, salt, and butter, then mixed with flour and flattened, and baked on a griddle.
    Yellow-meal-Gruel--Yellow meal boiled with salt and water, then poured over boiled turnips- This used be done at the time of the Famine
