  1. Nearly all the tramps who come round to this district are named Coffey or McCarthy.
    They usually go round in bands except one man whose name is Dannie Coffey- he always stays away from the rest.
    Their usual abode is a caravan or a cart drawn by a horse or a donkey. They make caravans and carts themselves somewhat the shape of a horse-shoe. They always stay near a river or near some town if it is possible.
    Some of these tramps are very well dressed, and very well-off too. There are some
