  1. There are a lot of tramps in this district but we only know the names of a few- Coffey the Tinkers,
    Katie Curran,
    Harry-bo-Cat (a nickname).
    We do not know where they came from.
    The best known of the Coffeys is Danny Coffey. He goes round selling umbrellas and asking "Have you a couple of spuds you would give a fellow?" He pretends he is a great soldier.
    Katie Curran is a very bold old woman. If there was any young person in the house alone and she came in and asked for anything, if she did not get what she wanted she would hit the young person with her stick. Nearly all the women
