  1. A lot of tinkers and gypsies come round this district and they are not very welcome. They make saucepans and tables and they also sell _ and camphor. They ask for alms and say prayers when they get any alms. One of the prayers is "May God spare you!" and another is "May God have mercy on the souls that are gone before you!" Sometimes, they steal into hay sheds and sleep there. Others go round in bands and sleep in caravans. The usual ones who come round this place are the Coffeys.
