  1. Long ago the children used not wear shoes until they were about twelve years. Gutta Percha shoes they used to were. They were shoes with leather uppers and 'perk' soles with a tip in front and one in the heel. If you were near (with) the fire with them they would stick to the floor.
    When the Slieve women used be coming to Mass they used bring their boots under there 'axters' untik they came to Jerry Crean's house, Camp, and there they used put them in and take them off going home.
