till about three weeks after. When the bodies were brought ashore, they were put in the boat house which belonged to the Coast Guards. It was pitiable to see the parents and friends when they saw the bodies. Those who remember it say they never witnessed anything like it. The bodies were taken home and waked, they were then buried the same day in the Church Yard at Ballyheigue. It cast a gloom over the place for many a year, and strange to say the boy who saved the girl got married to her a few years after.
