  1. A man named Tom Delaney lived near Kilmoiley church-yard, in this county.
    One night he had no tobacco and he had no place nearer than Ardfert, a distance of 4 miles, to get it. About ten o'clock at night he went off for the tobacco.
    When he arrived at Kilmoiley chapel on this return journey, he met a crowd of people on horse back, tow on each horse, but there was only one rider on the last horse, and he asked Delaney where he was going, Delaney told him he was in the village for tobacco. The man ordered him to sit up behind him, Delaney did so and in the twinkling of an eye they were in the West Indies.
    The strange man sent Delaney into a shop and told him to load himself with all the tobacco he wanted, Delaney did as he was told. He crammed away every pocket he had with
