    Tailors in olden days went from house to house to make the clothes for the people.

    Shirts are made in the homes and they are made of the cloth bought in the shops in Listowel and Tralee.
    Socks and stockings are knitted in the homes and in the schools by the children but the thread is not spun at home.
    The thread is got from Blarney in Cork.
    There are no spinning wheels in this parish as they were all done away with long ago.
