    moss, hay, withered leaves, and it is lined inside with feathers or moss to keep them soft and warm. The nests are always built in the shady side of the ditch or fence.
    Some birds lay very small eggs and they are of different colours, some are white, others are blue and others are spotted. The birds sit on the eggs three weeks.
    If boys rob birds' nests they will get sore hands.
    If the cuckoo comes early it is a good sign of the year.
    The cuckoo is a nice bird
    She sings as she flies.
    She brings us good tidings.
