  1. There once lived a very wealthy prince in his fathers palace. At the age of 25 he married. After the royal feast he went into the coach-yard (where marble images were left) with his companions to play ball, as was the custom at that time. So as not to destroy his ring he hung it on the finger of one of the images.
    When the game was over he went to get his ring but the finger was closed. So Rhubert the prince was very upset. He told no one, but joined in the fun as before. When all was over he got a stone and went out to break the finger. The finger was opened as before but the ring was
