  1. Land Lords in Banada
    Banada belonged to the Augustinian Monks before Cromwell's Plantation, and the tenants were prosperous and happy under their rule. With the coming of Cromwell the lands were confiscated and the Monks dispersed. The Abbey and 300 acres of land were bestowed on Roger Jones, on(e) of Cromwell's followers.
    Jones was a protestant and hated Catholics but strange to say he married a Catholic lady of high birth. The tenant had a hard time under his rule. They paid high rent. His "drivers" as so called often took the pot of porridge off the fire to pay
