  1. When the monks were banished from Banada the monastic garden was considered holy ground and it was the earnest wish of the people to be buried there. Hence it is the oldest graveyard in my district.
    The Augustnian Monastery is now in ruins. The steps are still to be seen. On the steps leading to the monks' cells are brown spots which are supposed to be the monks' blood as they were masacred on the stairs by the Cromwellian soldiers.
