  1. A Story
    Once upon a time a little girl of eight years named Katherine Henry from Mullinabreena went out picking blackberries. She ate so much of them that in the evening she got sick and the doctor had to be sent for. Each day Doctor Flannery of Tubercurry attended her but she only seemed to be getting worse so the doctor gave up hope of her living. The little girl became unconcious and the strange part was she called for the present Canon Devine while she was unconcious. So her cousin and and an other boy went for the Canon. When the Canon arrived he went to her bedside and he asked her who he was ans she told him Father Mat. The Canon then went down to the kitchen and ordered everyone out and also all lights to be put out and he allowed no one to stay in the house but myself. He ordered me to cover the floor with bags which I did and he shut the door so that the house was in complete darkness, The Canon then took out his prayerbook and began walking up and down the floor reading and while he did so a ray of light shone all around him.
