    be married.
    The bride should be made presents of gold, silver and copper coins, by her husband.
    On their way to the church, the couple count it unlucky or as the old people say "A stroke of bad luck" to meet a funeral, a magpie, a redhaired woman, a weasel or a hare.
    A bride should wear:
    Something old, or something new, something borrowed or something blue.
    On the morning of the marriage the bride's father pays five per cent of her fortune to her husband.
    The bride should bring a married woman into the church with her, and the groom should bring a married man into the church with him.
    After the marriage, Holy Water is shaken on the newly married pair.
    During the wedding feast a number of straw-boys or gothuigeachts come. It is thought very lucky if the straw boys come to a wedding.
