- In the year 1798 Watt Henry of Doomore used to go out for his cows for milking early in the morning, and he used to see a hare standing on his hind legs sucking the cows, so he had a great hound of his own and he chased the hare on several occasions with the results that he used to escape into a little house in the corner of the farm. The people advised him that if he got a black hound without a white rib in him he would kill the hare. He advertised for one and he got him so he chased the hare and when it was on its usual track to escape, The hound pulled a piece of its leg and the hound’s foot was broken, with the result that he was unable to hold the hare so it succeeded in getting the window again. Watt went in searching for the hare, and an old woman that was in the house was sitting on a stool in the corner. Watt made her get up.(continues on next page)
